WHY NOW?

Many folks find Waubeka charming. Waubeka has the riverside charm and it does not have large corporate structures mixed with the old time views in the neighborhood. Many folks can also see numerous structures teetering on losing their bones and at the point where as if the structures do not receive TLC they will be loss. Losing structures due to the inability to repair is what will create a loss of charm in Waubeka. Waubeka has reached a point where if steps are not taken to sustain the current structures in 100 years time Waubeka could look very different. The cause behind the pursuant  Waubeka Historic District is to sustain the structures in Waubeka and creating opportunity for the “great reset” instilling the beloved buildings and charm to stand for another 100 years. If Waubeka does not become a registered Historic District, what will it look like in 100 years. Our Non- Profit is not pursuing this to change Waubeka but to sustain what is already in place, ensure it’s longevity and what we love about Waubeka.
